Our Story

It Started With Family

Long before there was a studio, Bridgette and Theresa were the ones every cousin, sister and close friend in Columbus called first. A henna night that needed a lounge. A shower that needed a backdrop. A wedding that needed favors nobody else could find. They designed it, built it and styled it themselves.

Every detail should feel considered.

Word traveled. The Curated Occasion grew around that same standard: one team that designs the room and crafts the details guests take home, so nothing about your celebration feels generic.

Bridgette leads the studio's handcrafted work: resin serving pieces, monograms, keepsakes, the chess collection and personalized favors. Every piece is poured, finished and packaged by hand under her eye, so it arrives as an heirloom, not a product.

Co-Founder · Design & Events

Theresa leads event design and styling. She sees a room the way a guest will walk into it: the entry, the light, the table, the first photo. Drapery, backdrops, signage, tablescapes and henna nights are designed under her eye, from concept to the last lantern placed on site.

Everything You Might Ask

How far in advance should we book?

For full event design, 3 to 6 months ahead is ideal, and peak wedding and henna season dates go first. The audio guestbook books one event per date, so reserve as soon as your date is set. Custom pieces typically need 4 to 6 weeks; rush timelines are sometimes possible, just ask.

Where do you work? Do you travel?

We're based in Columbus and serve Central Ohio for event design and rentals. Travel beyond that is available on request; share your venue in the planner and we'll confirm. Favors, gift boxes and resin pieces are made in our studio and can be delivered or shipped.

Is the consultation free?

Yes. Every project starts with a no-obligation conversation, by phone, text, email or in person. Share your budget range in the planner and we design to it.

Do you publish pricing?

Every project is quoted individually because scope varies so much: a single backdrop and a full ballroom are different jobs. Tell us your budget range and we'll send clear numbers in our first reply.

How do deposits and payments work?

A deposit reserves your date or begins your custom piece, with the balance due before the event or before delivery. Exact terms and dates are outlined in your proposal.

Is setup and teardown included?

Yes. For events and rentals, we deliver, install and style on site, then collect everything after your celebration. You and your venue don't lift a thing.

Can you work with my planner, florist or venue?

Absolutely. We coordinate directly with your planner and venue on load-in, timing and placement, and we're happy to design around pieces you already have.

How does the audio guestbook work?

Guests pick up the receiver, hear your greeting, and leave a message in their own voice. It needs a standard outlet, no Wi-Fi. After the event we edit the recordings and send you a keepsake audio album.

Can custom pieces include my own florals, photos or keepsakes?

Yes. Preserved wedding florals, photos, fabric, invitations and memorial keepsakes can be set into resin pieces. Tell us what you'd like to include and we'll walk you through how it's handled.

Do you ship custom pieces?

Yes. Resin pieces, favors and gift boxes can be picked up, delivered locally, or packaged and shipped. Add your ZIP in the planner and we'll include it in the quote.
